St Killian’s Garron Tower 3-5 St Patrick’s Maghera 1-8

St Killian’s Garron Tower pulled off a huge shock yesterday in Ballymena by defeating hot favourites St Patrick’s Maghera to reach their first ever Corn Eimhear camogie final. An early goal from player of the match Sinéad  Convery gave them a foothold in the game and they were level 1-2 to 0-5 at the break, with Adrienne Gorman hitting 4 of the Maghera points.

She hit another on the re-start, butGarronTowerhit back with Convery’s second goal and they added 2 points to lead by 4 going into the last quarter.

They kept working hard but things looked like unravelling when Maghera subNiamh Quinnfound the net in the 59th minute.

However the Tower quickly moved the sliotar down the field and Sinead Convery completed her hat-trick with a hard low drive to the net.

Cross & Passion Ballycastle could make it a derby final if they take out the holders St Mary’s Magherafelt in the second semi-final this (WEDNESDAY) afternoon also at Ballymena.
