In summer 2013 St Killian’s student Ciara McLaughlin achieved full marks in her A level Art and Design examination.

On Wednesday this week, she was awarded Top Achiever in Northern Ireland by the examination board CCEA. Principal Mr Brady warmly congratulated Ciara. “We are all very proud of Ciara’s achievement – a fitting reward for her talent and determined work over many years. This also recognises the excellent work of the Art Department in the school and how they nurture and encourage our students to achieve such high standards.”

Ciara also picked up A* grades in her other 2 subjects, Maths and PE, and has just begun a degree course in Art and Design at the NW Regional College in Derry. Ciara’s artwork is currently on display as part of the CCEA True Colours exhibitions in Belfast and Derry during 2013-2014.

Ciara is pictured at the CCEA Awards ceremony with Mr Jonny Brady and her Art & Design teachers Miss Michelle McKeown and Mr John Mulvenna.
