Three girls make All-star camogie team

Congratulations to Laoise McKenna, Ellen Hynds and Siobhan McKillop who have been included in the 2016-7 Ulster Schools’ All-star camogie team

All three have been key members of St Killian’s senior teams since they were in Year 10 and have participated in Ulster Senior championship victories and All-Ireland semi-finals.

During their time in the school, all three have captained teams at various stages.

Laoise McKenna is winning her second successive All-star to finish off a brilliant 2016 for the Brídíní Óga club player. Laoise captained Antrim to the All-Ireland Minor B title as well as the Ulster Minor and Intermediate titles this year, playing at midfield in every game of the three campaigns.

She has also helped her club to the Antrim and Ulster Junior club titles as well as the All-Ireland Kilmacud Sevens Plate.

Siobhán McKillop has won Ulster championship medals with Antrim at under 14, 16, Minor and Intermediate levels over the past three years, as well as winning All-Ireland under 15 and, in 2016, All-Ireland Minor B titles. She has also won a minor championship title with Ruairí Óg Cushendall.

Ellen Hynds has also won Antrim and Ulster Junior titles and the Kilmacud All-Ireland Sevens (as captain) titles in 2016 with her club Brídíní Óga Glenravel. She was centre-half back in the Antrim team that won the Ulster under 16 title in August and also holds an Ulster under 14 medal from 2013, when she was the youngest member of the team.
