On Wednesday 15th November 2017 Larne Area Shared Education Partnership held another very successful joint Student council event, this time at St Killian’s College, Garron Tower.
56 students (representatives from each year group) from the local schools: St Killian’s, Roddensvale, Larne Grammar and Larne High participated in a number of activities highlighting how the partnership can develop for the benefits of all students and how the schools can further make a positive impact in the local community.
Lunch followed a very successful group activity in the morning. The afternoon session was delivered via 3 workshops by RNLI representatives. The students looked at the work of the organisation, the challenges they face and their huge importance within the Glens and East Antrim area.
The students have planned follow up joint events to look at how they can promote and raise funds for the RNLI and other local organisations.
All involved thoroughly enjoyed the event and new friendships were made.
Thanks to all the students, teachers and staff who helped with this event and indeed to all those who regularly meet for shared events through the partnership.
