46 languages students between the ages of 14 to 16 from St Killian’s College are just returned home after an enjoyable, action-packed 4 days in Paris.
The group was accompanied to the French capital by 6 members of staff led by Mrs Aideen Kane, Head of French in the College.
During the packed schedule, the group enjoyed the sights and ambience of Paris.
Despite the arrival of US President Barak Obama and the other G8 leaders on Monday morning, the flight departed on time and Day 1 involved a guided bus tour around the many historical sites of Paris ending with a meal in Flunch Fontenay.
There was an early rise on Day 2 to pack in visits to Stade de France, a River Cruise on Bateaux Parisiens and the EiffelTower with the group spending the evening in Aquaboulevard Sports Complex – a huge Water Sports’ complex.
Day 3 was spent in Disneyland Paris,
and finished in a shopping complex with visits to the Louvre Galleries and central Paris, followed by Sacré Coeur on Montmartre on Day 4.
This was the second European trip from St Killian’s this year with the History Department making a hugely successful trip to Poland in March. And plans are well-advanced for another Languages’ trip – this time to Madrid at Halloween.
