Guests to the school impress pupils

Over the past couple of weeks, St Killian’s students have had the experience of speaking to two local personalities and questioning them about their jobs.

On Friday 17th, BBC Sports’ Editor Mark Sidebottom met with Mrs Blaney’ Media Studies’ class and other students interested in followng a career in journalism and the media.  Mark, as a past pupil of St MacNissi’s College, was well able to relate to his audience and recalled his adventures as a student at The Tower as well as talking about his career and his current job.

Then on Friday 24th, MLA and Finance Minister Mr Sammy Wilson visited Mrs McDonnell’s KS4 LLW class and talked to them about a number of Government Agencies, including Police Ombundsman, the Historical Enquires Team and the benefits of devolved government.

Mr Wilson, a former teacher, engaged well with the students and afterwards was most complimentary of the group.
