Two players from St Killian’s College have been selected on the Ulster Colleges’ All-star camogie team announced this week.
They are Dervla Cosgrove and Laoise McKenna, who formed the midfield partnership last weekend when St Killian’s won the Fr Davies’ Cup final with a narrow 4-4 to 2-9 win over St Patrick’s Keady at the Dub.
This is Dervla’s second award as the Ruairí Óg club player was recognised by the All-star selectors last season.
It is a first award for Laoise, but it is another in a line of awards the Glenravel Brídíní Óga club player has picked up over the past month. In November she was awarded Antrim Minor Player of 2015 and also Ulster Young Player of 2015, having played both minor and senior for her club and for Antrim.
Both Dervla and Laoise are still eligible to play in the minor grade this coming season.
And two hurlers have made it into the Danske Bank All-star Hurling team announced today.
They are Head Boy Fergus McCambridge and Dylan McLaughlin.
Fergus, who represents the Ruairí Óg club, and Dylan, from Shane O’Neill’s in Glenarm, have won Gallagher and Foresters’ Cup medals during their time at the school and have represented Antrim Colleges’ and also Antrim Minors.
